The production of
stained glass windows has been revolutionized by the introduction of Glass-Art software.
Hand-cutting and sizing that has taken hours or days in the past now is computerized for
paper patterns, sandblast and acid etching masks.
Whether hand drawn, xeroxed from pattern books, or designed with computer programs like CorelDraw, GLASS-ART allows designs to be scanned, edited, mirrored and sized to exact window measurements with any appropriate lead line relief. In addition, users have control over piece color assignment, color separation, and material conservation planning. Interesting elements can be accumulated and stored in "graphic libraries." These images can then be retrieved later to create new one-of -a -kind windows using repeated and or compounded elements. Scaled color renditions may be produced for customer presentations and full scale numbered placement maps make assembly a quick and painless process.
Production time for glass etching and sandblasting has been greatly reduced thanks to Glass-Art’s unique ability to cut smooth lines on masking material. Hand cutting of masks is no longer required yet the user retains the quality and integrity of hand cut craftsmanship.
